After being closed for a year, Metro Seattle Gamers will be re-opening, under COVID-19 restrictions, on April 1st. The club will be operating at 50% capacity, have improved air sanitization, and require the wearing of masks, along with other requirements.

We anticipate that club usage will initially be light as our members make their own decisions about when to return to the club.

On July 24th, Governor Inslee canceled the regulations that would have allowed Metro Seattle Gamers to open under limited conditions under Phase 2. At the current time, Phase 4 is the scheduled phase for re-opening the club.

After considering the recent uptick in cases in King County, the decision has been made to assess county statistics and policy decisions after the recent Fourth of July holiday.

With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in King County, the club is waiting until after the 4th of July to see if the county or state will pull back on their recent policy adjustments.

In the meantime the club is finishing up some housekeeping.

King County has entered Phase 2. While the earlier definition of Phase 2 would not allow the club to open, the options in front of us under Phase 2 have changed. We are evaluating the situation.

    Stay tuned...

Today, Governor Inslee issued a stay at home order that will come into effect in the next 48 hours.

Pursuant to this order, Metro Seattle Gamers will be closed to at least April 8, 2020.

Metro Seattle Gamers has just learned that new public health orders will be issued by the county and state, effective tomorrow March 16th.  These orders will further tighten the distancing requirements, specifically:

    • Restaurants, bars, dance halls, clubs, theaters, health and fitness clubs, and other similar indoor social or recreational venues must cease operations until March 31, 2020.

Even though, to the best of our knowledge, no members of the club have been infected or are suspected of harboring an infection, Metro Seattle Gamers is now closed pursuant to this anticipated order.

Yesterday, March 11, 2020, new state and local public health orders were issued by Governor Jay Inslee and Dr. Jeff Duchin, Public Health Officer for Seattle & King County. The orders apply to groups of less than 250 persons and emphasize maintaining a physical separation between individuals of 6 feet or more for times longer than 10 minutes.

Pursuant to those orders, Metro Seattle Gamers is operating on a limited basis.

    • All scheduled events are canceled.
    • Club members will have restricted access to the club provided that they follow the order's physical separation policy and follow the club's cleaning requirements.

The club shall remain in this status until such time as the orders have been updated.

These actions are precautionary: at this time we are not aware of any our members having been infected with the Covid-19 virus or who are under suspicion of having it.
